With the discovery of http://www.rollip.com and my ever growing passion for reading short stories before going to bed every night (there´s so much good stuff released these days it is almost impossible to resist) I hope that from now on I will update this blog more frequently including some pictures and book reviews (who knows? maybe music and film reviews as well).
I will just have to kick out the procrastinator in me...

Heartbroken but still a zest for life

That´s how I am feeling these days ... difficult to forget him but feeling sorry for myself is not a wise decision at all and I need for my life to go on no matter how hard just the thought of that is. Things always happen for a reason, right? even if often take us a while (months, years) to realize exactly why.

I have finally signed up for the refresher course in French (still daydreaming of living in Montréal for a wee while one day!) and the MA started last week so I am keeping my mind busy.

I just need the extra effort to start socializing again and come rain or shine I will do it on October, why wait longer?

In the meantime I have gone back to a hobby I always adored... penpalling :) and I am mailing out this month introductory letters to lovely people in Tahiti, Sweden and Germany and I am awaiting patiently (lie! I can´t wait :) ) to receive three from Japan, Switzerland and Québec.

I am excited to see what the future holds for me and I keep my fingers crossed it will be positive things for a change.

Quote of the day:
´Women are like teabags; you never know how strong they are until they are put in hot water´
Eleanor Roosevelt

(Amen to that ;) )

I just checked out the Gimme Your Stuff´s website and it seems it is up and running again, yay!
I wrote my first blog entry last summer and everytime I attempted to contact a GYS member to arrange a swap either the email address no longer existed or they did not reply :(

Maybe better luck this time? :)
So just a shout to say I am still interested in some swaps so don´t hesitate to drop me a line if you are too wherever in the world you live.

Gimme Your Stuff

I have found Paradise in the (virtual) shape of a blog...

http://gimmeyourstuff.blogspot.com/

They describe it as ''the cultural exchange blog where you can swap items of significance to your area with items from others around the world. A conduit for many an international cuisine to change hands. A place where you can trade a newspaper from South Africa, or a CD from Finland'' ...

Aren't you raring to start doing some swapping already? :) I am !!!

I spent last night daydreaming of all the swaps I am going to do and the interesting people I will meet along the way. Oh! and preparing the huge list of things I would love to get my hands on.
I surprised myself with this; since I was a kid I have had a huge interest in everything foreign but phew... the older I get the more interests I have.
Am I a 'knowledge sponge' or what? ;-)

Here is my list. I will be adding to this and also deleting items (once I manage to find a kind person willing to trade them with me ;-) ) on a regular basis.

If your country is not listed here, please don't think it means I do not wish to swap with you! It does NOT.
These are just my initial thoughts and I'd be happy to receive an email from you with your ideas for a swap. I am sure we could work something out!

But first things first!! What I can trade.
Since I am a Spanish girl I can send you...

- Spanish chocolate (and tea)
- Postcards of Spanish cities
- A Spanish fan (or two!) In case you don't know what an 'abanico' looks like google it or have a peek at: http://www.spanishfans.com/

Anything you can think of just ask! I would do my best to 'investigate' if we have it here :)

Easy peasy... worldcitizenyes@gmail.com
Please put on the subject line 'Gimme Your Stuff' so I know it is not spam.

I aim to do four swaps per month; on two of those I will send the parcel first and on the two others I will ask my partner to send first if they're happy with it.

Waiting for you in my mailbox! Hasta pronto :-)
